What we’re optimizing for
Visit a friend at EPFL (Lausanne). Cash Google Flights plus the Singapore Airlines site. Miles Spontaneous Escapes this month cover London, Paris, Milan, and similar cities, but not Geneva or Zurich. Cash fares plus HSBCDEAL — S$60 off, and not for Southeast Asia — are the better bet for Switzerland.
On the ground
Geneva is the campus airport.
EPFL sits in Lausanne. The cheaper ticket is not always the shorter day. Zurich can win on fare and still cost half an afternoon on the train.
